Our Team

Dr. Ross Donison was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he completed his DMD, graduating from the college of dentistry in 1994. Dr. Donison is also certified in Level 2 Neuromodulators (Facial and TMJ Botox) and Oral and Nitrous Sedation. He practiced as an associate in Saskatoon practice for several years before ultimately fulfilling his goal of owning his own family dental practice. After finding a practice in Edmonton with a great location and lots of potential, on March 1, 2000, Donison Dental was open for business. Over the years, the practice has seen much growth and change, even undergoing a full renovation in 2010. But one thing that has never changed, is his philosophy that the ultimate goal of Donison Dental is to provide the patients with a superior dental experience and excellent oral health care tailored to each individual need.

Dr. Donison loves that dentistry offers him a perfect blend of science and art. The day-to-day challenges and rewards have kept him enthusiastic and passionate about dentistry for the past 30+ years (with many more to come!). Dr. Donison enjoys being a part of the amazing team at Donison Dental, but the greatest reward is getting to know all the patients and their families, many of whom he has seen over three and now four generations. He finds joy in coming to work every day, and is continually committed to treating all of his patients as if they were his own family members. And no, he is NOT planning on retiring from dentistry any time soon – he loves what he does far too much!

In his free time, Ross loves traveling, Scuba diving, motorcycles, cars, all kinds of sports and fitness, and spending his weekends at the lake with his family, friends and his two Golden Retrievers. Recently, his young grandsons have added a new and wonderful dimension to his life!

Dr. Kevin Smith was born and raised in Regina, Saskatchewan. He attended the University of Saskatchewan, where he completed his B.S.C. in Microbiology and his DMD, graduating from the college of dentistry in 1996. He then moved to Nelson, B.C. where he started his own dental practice in 2003. After many successful years, he was ready for a change of pace. He sold his practice and moved to Edmonton in 2021 where he joined Donison Dental as an associate dentist. He has fit in perfectly, and is enjoying getting to know all of our wonderful patients.

Kevin enjoys spending his free time with his wife and 5 children, being involved in all of their extracurricular activies, all types of fishing and enjoying the great outdoors!

Donna was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. She attended the University of Alberta for Dental Hygiene, graduating from the program in 1995. She started working at Donison Dental fall of 2004. Her favorite thing about working at Donison Dental is the amazing patients we have. Over the years, she has met such wonderful people and has had the pleasure of getting to know them quite well through their regular hygiene visits. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, two kids, and their dog Jasper, cycling, hiking, reading and spending time with family and friends. Fun fact: Donna brings the same thing for lunch every day and never gets sick of it!

Miranda was born and raised in Winnipeg Manitoba. She moved to Edmonton in 1996, where she graduated from the NAIT Dental Assisting Program in 1998. After spending a few years at Grant MacEwan, she went on to complete her Bachelor of Science Degree, specialization in Dental Hygiene with Distinctions in 2002. She started working at Donison Dental spring of 2013. She loves working with dedicated and caring staff and thinks our patients are fantastic. She appreciates them placing their trust in our dental team. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her daughter and hiking in the Rocky Mountains. Fun fact: Miranda is the tallest member on our team!

Teresa was born in Edmonton Alberta, and was raised in the Athabasca area as a child. She attended the Toronto College of Dental Hygiene and graduated with honors in 2012. She joined Donison Dental in the summer of 2019 and enjoys providing her patients with key oral health knowledge and has a passion for myofunctional therapy. She prides herself in providing her patients gentle, high quality care. In her spare time, Teresa enjoys playing softball, golfing, and hiking with her husband, as well as playing board games with family and friends. Fun fact: Teresa had Mindy as a bridesmaid in her wedding party!

Mindy grew up in the Spruce Grove, Alberta area. She graduated from the NAIT Dental Assisting Program in 2004, and moved to Edmonton later that year. She even did her Dental Assisting practicum with Dr. Donison while in the NAIT program! She joined the Donison Dental team spring of 2005. She loves forming great relationships with the patients and working as a team along side Dr. Donison to provide excellent dental treatment. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, daughter, and their Pomeranian’s Ivy and Lainey, playing piano, singing, being active, and is a HUGE Formula 1 fan. Fun fact: Mindy was a patient at Donison Dental before she started working here and is the only “lefty” in the office!

Betty grew up in Devon, Alberta. She graduated from the NAIT Dental Assisting program in 1990, and joined the Donison Dental team fall of 2007. She enjoys making sure all of our patients feel comfortable and well taken care of, from the moment they walk through our door to the moment they leave our office. She has lived in West Edmonton for over 25 years with her husband and 2 kids. In her free time, she enjoys cheering her kids on in all their endeavors, travel, spend time with her family, and snuggle with her Chihuahua Shiver while watching her favorite shows on Netflix. Fun fact: Betty can carry on a conversation about any topic!

Ebelin was born in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico and moved to Edmonton in 2012. She completed her Dental Assisting at CDI college and graduated in 2024. She joined Donison Dental in June of 2025. What she enjoys most about Donison Dental is the fun environment with all her co-workers and the patients. Not to mention, it’s “indoors” so she doesn’t freeze her behind off in the winters (she’s not a fan of the cold still). In her free time, she enjoys staying active, boardgames, movies, reading and writing, playing the ukelele and spending time with her Fiance and her French-American bulldog Channel. Fun fact: Ebby can play the Ukelele and is currently the youngest member of our team!

Naomi is originally from Olds, Alberta. She moved to Edmonton in 2003. She took Business and Accounting at NAIT, graduating in 1992. She spent 8 years working for a Dental Insurance company. (She is our official Dental Insurance Guru!) She started working at Donison Dental in the fall of 2007. She loves catching up with all of our patients when they come in for their appointments. In her spare time, she enjoys spending quality time with her family, which now includes her amazing granddaughter Penelope! She loves camping with her husband, being active, and watching true crime TV. Fun Fact: Naomi is always incorporating random movie quotes and the topic of food into her conversations!

Shari was born and raised in the Cold Lake, Alberta area. She graduated from the NAIT Dental Assisting Program in 1990, and after working in the field for 8 years and having her two boys, she went back to school and completed her Dental Hygiene degree at the University of Alberta. Shari joined the Donison Dental team in 2008. Her favorite thing about Donison Dental is all of the wonderful patients and working with all of the amazing staff. In her free time, Shari loves traveling, scuba diving, photography, being active, DIY, and spending time with her family and their two golden retriever’s, Sophie and Cohen. Fun fact: All of the framed photography in the office was taken by Shari!

Shawna was born and raised in Edmonton. She attended Grant MacEwan for Medical Admin/Unit Clerk, graduation from the program in 2003. She also took a dental training program in 2013. She started working at Donison Dental in the Summer of 2020. Her favorite part of working at Donison Dental is all of the great patients we have and the fun staff to work with. In her free time, she loves spending time with her two daughters and her cat Jolene, watching movies, playing board games, being active and enjoying the great outdoors. Fun Fact: Shawna can be slightly gullible and is easy to play office pranks on!
